If it’s not your dream job the daily grind wears on your soul.
I can see it in the face of my husband, my hard working friends, and I saw it on my father’s face.
David has a great job withe the FAA and has been in air traffic control in some position or another for 18 years. It’s a steadfast, slow and steady wins the race kind of job. He’s also for years worked shift work and had odd days off. That’s why we chose for me to stay at home with Sam and even not work full time before Sam because if I had different days off we would’ve never been together.
However, I had an entrepreneurial spirit, I’m sure I got from my father, and I was always looking for some way to fill my time and contribute to our family income.
I tried many forms of businesses over the years and some filled my soul but did nothing for our bank account. Heck, to be honest one or two even cost us more money than I made. But I never stopped searching for the one true business that could be life changing for our family.
In the five years of being a business owner I’ve made many mistakes. None were catostrophic but they taught me many valuable lessons. Here are the top eight mistakes I made as an entrepreneur:
1.) Picking a service based business in which majority of people who needed my help couldn’t afford to pay for my services. (Not my dream job).
2.) Not realizing how hard and time consuming it is to grow your own brand. I know it can be done but I was giving up way more time with my family than I wanted and missing precious moments of my child growing up.
3.) Trading dollars for hours.
4.) Not capitalizing on the ways I could make money while I was sleeping. This is where I should have been focused all along. It’s called passive income.
5.) Not choosing a consumable product to begin with. You know a product people want and will use over and over. That’s called residual income.
6.) Having to do all of the back end work myself. Building, setting up, and maintaining my website, my WordPress blog, my email accounts, my newsletter, financial transactions, all admin work and accounting. I mean I spent more time on admin than earning income.
7.) Not rewarding myself for hard work. I look back and it seems like I barely paid myself let alone incentivized my goals.
8.) Limited income potential.
Now what do you do when you make mistakes? I like to create lessons learned out of them. I turned the above statements into boxes that had to be checked for my next business opportunity.
The next opportunity to come along would have to be:
Less time consuming and fit into my life
To no longer trade dollars for hours
Need for passive income
Need for residual income
Back End/Admin support included
Website done for me
Rewards and incentives
Six figure MONTHLY income potential (hello dream job)!
That is a pretty big want list right?
I mean where in the heck can you find something like that?
Hmmmm…..Rodan + Fields that where!
When this business opportunity was shared with me, I took out my list of wants and checked off each box as it was explained to me. It was like someone had created the perfect opportunity just for me!
Rodan + Fields (RF) skincare products are clinically proven to work and actually transform skin. Rodan + Fields often eliminate trips to the dermatologist and medical spas. RF brings skincare to your bathroom saving time and money. You simply can’t buy products with our efficacy outside of a doctor’s visit.
Our doctors are the same doctors/creator of Proactiv. Proactiv is a multi-billion dollar global brand name, sold in over 118 countries. Proactiv owns 80% of the global acne market and has dominated for over 20 years. Now the doctors are doing the same thing with the anti aging skincare market. RF offers clinically proven products and a 60-Day Empty Bottle, money back guarantee. These products don’t just clean your skin they transform it!
Rodan + Fields is the only name brand to ever leave retail and enter direct sales. I actually view my business as a virtual franchise with global brand recognition. A virtual store front.
For the first time EVER I know I found the right business for myself and my family, and my dream job. This is a life changing opportunity. The doctors, Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields want to empower entrepreneurs and create wealth for people instead of department stores.
Also, for the first time EVER I believe I have found a way out of the daily grind for my family! Does that mean we won’t have to work our tails off to make it happen? Of course not. But now we are on the way to designing our life on our terms!
If you feel like the daily grind is wearing on you, please reach out to me and let me share this amazing opportunity with you!
