It seems like we always talk a lot about the creative aspect of blogging or monetizing your blog but we don’t actually talk about the business and legal side of blogging. So what kind of tools do you need for building a blogging business?
There are some very important things you should do as a new blogger or even make sure your bases are covered as a veteran blogger.
You need forms, agreements, contracts and statements to protect #1: yourself and #2: your business.
A few of these include:
Making sure you are legally covered as a blogger.
What’s the consequence of not having a contract for your business?
What do you do with a client/sponsor who won’t pay?
What if your client wants to negotiate your contract?
How to hire subcontractors for your business?
What is an NDA and should I sign one?

If you are like me you have probably googled all of this at some point and maybe hodge-podged it together. However, I recently found an awesome resource! A company called Businessese.
The founders are Jamie Lieberman and Danielle Liss, attorneys and experienced business leader who have experience running small businesses. Jamie and Danielle have also worked closely with small business owners to determine the best way Businessese can service our needs.
They actually have a Legal Kit for Bloggers . There are also kits for creative bloggers, food bloggers, and vloggers (video bloggers)!
Aside from business forms they have two courses:
“A complete system for maximizing your sponsored content income by setting the right rates, marketing your strengths, and negotiating like a pro.”
“If you are a blogger or social media influencer who creates sponsored content for clients, reporting your results can be a struggle.
Figuring out what to include. Wrangling spreadsheets. Creating a reporting template.
Then, once you have all of that done, it just looks boring.
After working on hundreds of influencer marketing campaigns, we know exactly how you feel and we wanted to show you our secrets for great campaign reports.”
Set your business and blog up for success and check out what Businessese has to offer!
