Happy Fall my friends! I have been enjoying so many blog posts about fall bucket lists and fall activities that I had to get in on it and create my fall favorites list.
Fall is in it’s full glory here in Colorado! In fact the leaves may have peaked a week or two ago. But the weather is just beautiful with a morning chill and warm afternoon sun! You can feel the crispness in the air! This time of year is so refreshing after the summer heat! It’s the breather we get before the icy north wind blows in for the winter.
I have picked out a few of my favorite things for fall this year including, decor, movies, children’s books and a few Halloween items.
Here are 15 of my fall favorites:
This year I am into pink and teal fall decor. Sounds weird I know but looks amazing. I mix the traditional colors into the vignettes.
My mother in law passed on a beautiful hand blown glass pumpkin similar to this one.
I overlap the Halloween decor as I only decorate a few days before Halloween and then take it down right after. It is fun to do a full fledged Halloween mantle once in awhile though!
When we do that we love to use more creepy items than really scary ones as we have an eight year old. We save wine, beer and crown royal bottles throughout the year to spray paint black. Then we love to use apothecary labels to make them spooky. You can add spider webbing and spiders for a creepy mantle.
These are a two of my favorite books for 4-8 year olds.
Little Critter: Just a Special Thanksgiving by: Mercer Mayer
Fall is a great time to curl up by the fire and have family movie nights! Here are a few of our go to movies.
I have been watching the Wizard of Oz every November since I was a child. It’s a wonderful family tradition!
Is there a better family Halloween movie? Nope!
This is a must see for every generation!
After the kids are in bed:
You can have some laughs and watch a classic Steve Martin and John Candy movie!
A desperately romantic yet savage movie with a young Brad Pitt! One of my all time favorite movies!
Or have a girls night with some tequila, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman!
The house, the sisters, the spells! Love this movie!
Finally, if you want to get you kiddo something extra cute for Halloween…
Do you have any fall favorites? Decor, books, movies, toys activities, etc. I would love it if you would share them in the comments below!
